Tata Harrier to be first car to get rating under India’s safety rating regime

Tata Harrier will be the first car to receive a safety rating under India's own star rating regime called Bharat NCAP. Other Indian car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Mahindra have also offered some variants of their upcoming models for rating under Bharat NCAP. Additionally, a major player plans to offer one of its EV models in January and a total of six by 2024 for the rating. The Pune-based Central Institute of Road Transport has been designated as the nodal entity for Bharat NCAP, and the star ratings will be published on the NCAP secretariat's website.
