Joshimath sinking: Question mark hangs over Badrinath yatra

Joshimath is regarded as the gateway and the only route to the holy town of Badrinath. But after several places in Joshimath were put under the "danger zone" category, questions are now being raised on the road to be taken to the popular shrine. The state had recently said the yatra would not be affected. Under the Char Dham road project, authorities are preparing a "by-pass to Badrinath" but the project is still halfway through.
